Jackrabbit Trails complete, but now what?

By Joanna Padgett-Atkisson Guest Writer   Bittersweet is probably a word that is overused, but I just can’t seem to think of another term to describe my emotions at present with the completion of the final trail at the Jackrabbit Mountain biking and hiking trails.

By Abigail Hickman Cherokee Scout   The first thing, of course, is not to get arrested. However, for those finding themselves among the projected 1,800 arrests in Cherokee County for next year, it might be helpful to make an introduction to Doobie White, a local bail bondsman.

Wildlife law enforcement officers with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will participate in a nationwide campaign Saturday-Monday, July 2-4 called Operation Dry Water.

By Nicole Hedden Guest Writer   On Friday, June 24, The Murphs will host the second concert of the 2022 Summer Concert Series on the Hayesville town square. Food service begins at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.

Staff Report   Sheriff Bobby Deese accomplished numerous things during his term as Clay County’s top lawman, but one of his proudest achievements has nothing to do with serving and protecting.
