MountainTrue’s Annual Native Tree and Shrub Sale Kicks Off

MountainTrue is taking orders for its Annual Native Plant Sale. This yearly fundraiser was established by the Hiwassee River Watershed Coalition and has continued since the group’s merger with MountainTrue in 2019.

Trafficking charges filed

Investigators with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office have charged a pair of Warne residents with several drug-related charges, including tracking in heroin,. A search warrant was executed Sept. 23 on a property in Warne, where multiple suspected controlled substances were seized along with U.S.

Couple dies in plane crash

Authorities are investigating the cause of an airplane crash that claimed the lives of two people. A man and wife, whose identities have been withheld pending family notification, were pronounced dead at the scene Monday afternoon following a search that spanned several hours.

Drug problem topic of forum

To provide student/youth a platform to present their thoughts and perspectives on the use of drugs of abuse, a forum is planned for 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11 in the Towns County Recreation Center at Foster Park.
