Local COVID situation improving

Couple dies in plane crash

Authorities are investigating the cause of an airplane crash that claimed the lives of two people. A man and wife, whose identities have been withheld pending family notification, were pronounced dead at the scene Monday afternoon following a search that spanned several hours.

Drug problem topic of forum

To provide student/youth a platform to present their thoughts and perspectives on the use of drugs of abuse, a forum is planned for 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11 in the Towns County Recreation Center at Foster Park.

The HHI Board of Directors held their September 28 meeting at Hayesville Town Hall with plenty of space for COVID guidelines and room to share information beneficial to STMS, the Chamber of Commerce and community.

Final pickleball clinic upcoming

Mountain Lakes Pickleball will host its last lessons of the year for beginning and novice level players. The clinics will be held on Thursday, October 14 and Thursday, October 28 at 10:30 AM on the outside courts at the Clay County Sports Complex.

Fall Cruise-In huge success

The Union County Farmers Market was filled with great hot rods, antiques, classics, rat rods, trucks  and special interest vehicles Saturday, Oct.2. More than 100 vehicles participated under  partly cloudy skies.
