Residents adapting to ‘new norm’

Clay County residents appear to be heeding warnings and mandates coming down from the federal and state levels. In addition to multiple cancellations, restaurants have been ordered to close their dining area and remain open for carry-out and deliveries only.

The Clay County Board of Education held an emergency meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, March 16, to address the district's plans to address Corona Virus and the resulting school closures. The topic of student meals was shared by Clay County School Superintendent Dale Cole.

Job fair may help displaced employees find jobs

Representatives from seven local manufacturing companies are being brought together by NC Works Career Center of Murphy and Clay County government as a way to help displaced Southwire employees find new jobs.
