DEA warning people of deadly drug concoction

By Becky Long Publisher   In the same week the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration issued a warning about an increase in the trafficking of  the deadly concoction of fentanyl mixed with xylazine, Clay County experienced what appears to be its first case involving the drug xylazine.

Community Newspapers Inc.   An Andrews-based crew and one patient survived when an air ambulance en route from Peachtree to Asheville crashed on a roadway in Macon County just before 7 p.m. Thursday, March 9.

Group aims to preserve site, honor slaves in cemetery

Settlement funds to address opioid crisis

Clay County will pursue its share of a opioid settlement and the money will be used to address the problems drug misuse has caused many families, including children, in the county.
