Hayesville First United Methodist Church welcomed their new summer intern, Kait Priest, June 2. Kait recently graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va. She will begin her Duke University experience in Durham, N.C.

Fall in lake fatal for child

By Becky Long Publisher   A visit to the lake turned tragic on July 15 when a  5-year-old boy died from an apparent accidental drowning in Lake Chatuge. According to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office posting on Facebook, the boy had been reported missing at about 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
