Smoky Mountain All-Conference standouts Kyle Lunsford, No. 7, Logan Caldwell., No. 6, and Taylor McClure, No. 20, are big reasons why Hayesville football coaches and fans are optimistic about the 2022 season. The talented trio accounted for more than 4,000 yards of offense last year.

Following up on last years 10U Championship, this years Clay County 12U All Stars traveled to Blue Ridge to compete in this years' Mountain Athletic Conference 12U tournament. The Jackets battled to a second place finish. Quite an accomplishment for a relatively young team.

By Deby Jo Ferguson Sports writer   The Yellow Jacket varsity baseball team lost last week’s home playoff game against the South Stanley Rowdy Rebel Bulls from Norwood, N.C. by a score of 3-1. This was game one of the NCHSAA Baseball Championships 1-A Tournament held Tuesday, May 10.
