By Deby Jo Ferguson Sports writer      Hayesville’s varsity soccer Lady Jacket team fell to Blue Ridge Early College 3-1  in Cashiers on April 28.    Cecilia Jones scored the lone point on a penalty kick for the Jackets. “Each game we get to see our team grow in many ways.
Hayesville Middle School Jackets traveled to Robbinsville, on Monday, April and finishing first in the Smoky Mountain Conference.   By Deby Jo Ferguson Sports Writer   The Smoky Mountain Conference Middle School Championships took place on Monday, April 25 at Robbinsville. The Lady Jackets of Hayesville earned the  SMC title for first place which included several school records set by the young athletes.

After being down by as many as 11 points, Hayesville rallied to force overtime. The extra period saw the Jackets pull away to win 54-43.

A swarm invaded the campus of N.C. State Saturday, March 12, as hundreds of Hayesville Yellow Jacket fans descended on Raleigh to cheer on their undefeated basketball team in the 1A championship game.

For the first time since 2004, the Hayesville Yellow Jackets are state champions. Hayesville completed their perfect 28-0 season with a 54-43 victory of Chatham Charter Saturday, March 12 at N.C. State in Raleigh.
