Lady Jackets Survive Scare

HIAWASSEE, GA — After falling to Hokes Bluff, AL 53-46 in the opening round of the Battle of the States tournament, the Lady Yellow Jackets returned to Towns County Friday, Dec. 27th to take on the host team in the consolation bracket. Towns County lost to Polk County, Tenn.

McTaggart leads Jackets to Semifinals

 The Hayesville Yellow Jackets opened the annual Battle of the States Christmas tournament against the Wildcats of Polk County, Tenn. at Towns County High Thursday, Dec. 26. Hayesville entered the game 5-1 while Polk County were winners of their lone game coming into the tournament.

Lady Jackets struggle in first round

HIAWASSEE, GA. — Hayesville's varsity Lady Yellow Jacket team made the familiar trip across Lake Chatuge Thursday, Dec. 26 for the first day of the annual Battle of the States basketball tournament held at Towns County High School in Hiawassee, GA.

Eight Jackets are enough

HAYESVILLE — Jade Patterson scored 6 of her team's 14 overtime points as Hayesville's Lady Yellow Jackets proved that eight are enough in a 66-60 victory on the home floor over previously undefeated Robbinsville Friday night.

Hayesville gets comeback win over Dogs

Hayesville's varsity Yellow Jacket basketball team has been on a tear as of late, not only winning games, but doing so in a dominant manner. On Thursday, Dec. 19 the Jackets swarmed into Murphy to take on the rival Bulldogs.

Lady Jackets face off with 3-0 Murphy

It was a battle of three-win teams when Hayesville's varsity Lady Yellow Jacket basketball team faced off with the Lady Bulldogs in Murphy Thursday, Dec. 19. Hayesville was coming off a win over Swain County and the Lady Bulldogs entered the game off the heels of a victory over Rosman.

Tough night for JV Jackets

Possessing a two-game winning streak, the JV Yellow Jacket basketball team made the short trip to Murphy Thursday, Dec. 19 to face their main rival in a game that had been postponed earlier in the season. Hayesville was unable to match the Bulldogs scoring ability and suffered the loss, 54-28.
