Revenge tastes sweet in Hayesville

Tension was high in The Hive as Hayesville hosted the Towns County Indians Saturday, Dec. 4. In another instant classic, the Jackets defended their home floor with an exciting 52-48 win. Blake McClure wasted no time putting the Jackets up 3-0 after Jake McTaggart won the opening tip.

Lady Jackets make it two wins over rival

In a rematch of a second round Battle of the States game, the Lady Yellow Jacket varsity basketball team played host to their state-line rivals, the Lady Indians of Towns County. For the second time in eight days, the Lady Jackets downed their rivals, this time by the final of 46-37.

Jackets use big third quarter to take down Towns

The JV Yellow Jackets started the 2020 portion of their season with a home game against the rival Indians from Towns County. A close game early, Hayesville defended their home floor with a 41-27 victory.

JV Lady Jackets face off with Towns County

After a lengthy Christmas break, the Lady Yellow Jacket basketball returned to action Saturday, Jan. 4 as they hosted Towns County. After jumping out to an early lead, Hayesville maintained control as they cruised to a 35-14 victory.

Stackhouse headed to Hall of Fame

Former Hayesville Yellow Jacket athlete and 1997 Hayesville High School graduate Julie Stackhouse is set to be inducted into the North Carolina High School Track and Field and Cross Country Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be held Saturday, Feb. 1 in Winston Salem.

Hayesville heads home holding hardware

HIAWASSEE, GA — After an emotional loss to Towns County in the second round of the Battle of the States tournament, the varsity Yellow Jacket team from Hayesville High School returned to the Hiawassee, GA Saturday, Dec. 28 to face Lumpkin County.

HIAWASSEE, GA — Hayesville's Lady Yellow Jacket basketball team made the short trip to Towns County High School Saturday, Dec. 28 for the final day of the Battle of the States tournament.
