The Lady Yellow Jacket basketball team from Hayesville Middle School opened the 2020 portion of their schedule with a home game against Towns County Wednesday, Jan. 8. Hayesville established dominance early in the game and held on to the lead through four quarters to pick up the 52-29 win.

Trio of 20-Point Scorers Lift Catamounts Over VMI

Lexington, Va.- Senior Carlos Dotson, redshirt junior Mason Faulkner, and junior Matt Halvorsen each finished with 20 points as Western Carolina secured a 97-85 victory over VMI in Southern Conference action on Wednesday night at Cameron Hall.

Mountain Lions eclipse century mark in 102-95 win over Clayton State

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Brian Harper scored 27 points to lead six players in double figures as the Young Harris College men's basketball team defeated Clayton State University 102-95 in a Peach Belt Conference contest Wednesday (Jan. 8) evening at the YHC Basketball Arena.

Hayesville dominant in win over Eagles

For the third time in four days the varsity Yellow Jacket basketball team saw action as they travelled to Hiwassee Dam Tuesday, Jan. 7. Hayesville entered the game as the favorite to win, but with a huge showdown with Andrews looming, some wondered if the Jackets would look past the Eagles.

Patterson leads Lady Jackets past Hiwassee Dam

Hayesville's varsity Lady Yellow Jacket basketball team travelled to Cherokee County Tuesday, Jan.7 to take on Hiwassee Dam. A favorite to win the Little Smoky Mountain Conference every season, the Lady Eagles are always a tough opponent for Hayesville.

Yellow Jackets pull away from Highlanders

Hayesville’s shooting problems were evident in the first quarter against Highlands. The Jackets got open shots but couldn’t get them to fall. Brady Shook had the early hot hand for the home team, totaling 6 first-quarter points which helped Hayesville build a 12-7 lead by quarter’s end.

Hayesville outlasts Highlands

Against Highlands, Hayesville’s offense was ice cold to start the game. After scoring the first bucket of the game, the Lady Jackets gave up 10 unanswered points to trail 10-2 after the first quarter. Hayesville flipped the switch in the second quarter, going on a 15-0 run to build a 17-10 lead.
