Marie Moss, 89, of Hayesville, went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2021 at her home surrounded with family following a brief illness. She was born May 17, 1932 to the late Ernie and Lucille Ledford of Hiawassee, Ga. Marie retired from Levi's after 24 years to become a homemaker.

Susan Williams, 46, of Murphy, N.C., passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021 at her residence. There are no services planned at this time. Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy is in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Thomas L. Leatherwood Jr.

Surrounded by family who loved him, Rev. Thomas L. Leatherwood, Jr., 91, of Murphy, met Jesus on Sunday, May 30, 2021.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 26 at Murphy First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 2 p.m.

Donald William Carroll, 83, of Hayesville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Don was born on Dec. 14, 1937 in Riviera Beach, Fla. to the late Flora and Sinclair Carroll.

On Sunday, May 23, 2021, Jason Michael Davis, 48, was called to heaven suddenly. No words can describe this kind, thoughtful person who left a positive mark on everyone he met.

Earl Wilson

Earl Wilson, 74, of Hayesville, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at his residence. Earl was a native of Orlando, Florida where he lived until moving to Hayesville in 2003. Earl served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 6 years.

Edward William Wentzel

Edward William Wentzel, 88, of Hayesville and Old Myakka, Fla., passed away on May 1, 2021. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Dec. 25, 1932. He served time in the U.S. Navy, Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1956.

James ‘Jim’ Douglas Halloran

James “Jim” Douglas Halloran, 82, of Hiawassee, Ga., passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Jim was born in Mayfield, N.Y. Aug. 23, 1938 to the late Donald and Myrtle Hickock Halloran. He was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hayesville.
