Audrey Woody Cole, 88, of Hayesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Friday, April 23, 2021, in a Hendersonville care facility. She was a native of Clay County and a graduate of Hayesville High School.

Rebecca ‘Becky’ Grizzle Eggert

Rebecca “Becky” Grizzle Eggert, 66, of Hayesville, formerly of Dahlonega, Ga., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021 following an extended illness. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 24 at Foothills Fellowship in Dahlonega, Ga. with the Rev. T.R.

Blanche L. Ledford

Blanche L. Ledford, 98, of Hayesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. Blanche was a native of Towns County, Ga., but had lived most of her life in Clay County.

Jarrett ‘Bud’ Thompson

Jarrett "Bud" Thompson, 67, of Hayesville, passed away April 3, 2021 in Sylva, N.C. Bud was preceded in death by his father; Garth Thompson, and mother, Florence "Mac" Thompson.

Douglas "Doug" Carl Evans, 76, of Warne, N.C., passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Donald Norman Gibson

Donald Norman Gibson, 82, of Brasstown, N.C., formerly of Savannah Lakes Village in McCormick, S.C., passed away April 10, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Peter Donald Gibson and Mary Horvath Gibson. Don was a graduate of Michigan Tech University.

Martha Neal Haigler Warth

Martha Neal Haigler Warth, 96, of Hiawassee, Ga., passed away Friday, Jan. 1 in a Towns County retirement facility. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at Hayesville First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Kirk Hatherly officiating.

Juanita ‘Nita’ Thompson

Juanita “Nita” Thompson, 79, of Sherman, Texas, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2020 at her home in the company of her husband. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at Meadow Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m.

Ruth White Hollifield, 88, of Hayesville, passed away Monday, March 29. 2020 at a Hiawassee, Ga. care facility. She was born and raised in Towns County, Ga. Ruth loved sewing, cooking and watching her grandchildren play sports.
