Jordan Ramon Garcia, 17, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019. He was born in Murphy, N.C. to Kerbin Garcia and wife, Christina, and Misty Garcia and boyfriend, Josh Collins. Jordan loved playing basketball, football, roller-skating, swimming and anything related to music.

George Barry Oliver, 77, of Hayesville, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born in Alabama to the late Earl James and Loretta Williams Oliver. Barry was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked for SeaWorld as a safety and security guard.

Gary Stephen Thurston

Gary Stephen Thurston, 77, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4 at his home in Hayesville. He was born in Albuquerque, N.M. to the late Elizabeth Forrest Roberts and Guy Frederick Morgenstern. Gary served in the U.S.

Faye Coker

Faye Coker, 88, of Warne, N.C., passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 in a Murphy care facility. She was the daughter of the late Ira and Allene McClure Hogsed. Surviving are three sisters, Reba Hubbard, of Blairsville, Ga.; Barbara Cooper, of Mt. Holly, N.C.; and Sharon Wallin, of Elkhart, Ind.

Albert Dockery

Valerie Schechinger

Valerie Schechinger, 67, of Hayesville, went home to be in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019. Valerie was born Sept. 8, 1952 in Fargo, N.D. She later married her high school sweetheart, Lloyd, whom she was happily married to for 48 years.

Peggy Ann Clark Bindrim

Peggy Ann Clark Bindrim, 76, of Arden, N.C., formerly of Brevard, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019. She was born on April 16, 1943 in Alexandria, La. to the late Albert and Mildred Louise Manning Clark.

Richard Carrington Holladay, 66, of Hayesville,  passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2019. He was born in Virginia to the late Waller Holladay and Harriett Shaver Holladay.  Richard was raised in Florida and lived in Hayesville for 41 years.
