Mountain Lions triumph over Tusculum 3-2

   Alexis Scarpinato scored two goals to lead the Young Harris College Women's Soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Tusculum University Thursday evening (Sept. 2) at Pioneer Field. The Mountain Lions improved to 1-0 overall while the Pioneers fell to 0-1.

Mountain Lions open season with busy weekend

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College volleyball, soccer and cross country teams open their respective 2021 seasons this weekend. Thursday, Sept. 2 Women's Soccer at Tusculum University, 7 p.m. This will be the third all-time meeting with the Pioneers.

Cross country underway

Hayesville cross country runners got their season underway Saturday, Aug. 21 in Swain County. The varsity Yellow Jackets ended the day in fourth while the varsity Lady Jackets didn’t have enough runners to compile a score.

First game jitters costly in Hayesville’s opener

An old Chinese proverb says, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" and if that's true, Hayesville’s  first two steps of the season were missteps. Those mistakes played a large role in Hayesville’s 34-21 home-loss to the Enka Jets.

The schedule at Tri County Racetrack was packed with events Friday, Aug. 2o. The highest paying Street Stock race of the season and “Back to School Nickel Night” were two of the evening’s highlight.
