Thompson named PBC Defender of the Week

Young Harris College men's soccer player Quinn Thompson has been named the Peach Belt Conference Defender of the Week ending Sept. 12. Thompson helped the No. 20-ranked Mountain Lion defense to a pair of wins last week, adding three assists on the offensive end.

Middle school Lady Jackets get first win

  Young Harris College scored three unanswered goals before Lincoln Memorial University rallied for two goals in the final 10 minutes as the 20th-ranked Mountain Lions took a 3-2 non-conference men's soccer victory Wednesday (Sept. 8) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

Guitierrez named Peach Belt's Defender of the Week

Young Harris College men's soccer player Federico Guitierrez has been named the Peach Belt Conference's Defender of the Week ending Sept. 5. Guitierrez led the Mountain Lions to a suffocating defensive effort in a 6-0 shutout win over Emmanuel (Ga.) College.

Payne wins memorial race

Longtime Tri County Racetrack fan Clarence "CT" Barnett passed away last week at the age of 93. Since the track first opened, Barnett has been a fixture at the Brasstown facility.
