Volleyball Opens SoCon Play With Tennessee Roadtrip

After playing its first 11 matches of the season against non-league foes, the Western Carolina volleyball team opens Southern Conference play this weekend with a two-match road swing through Tennessee. WCU heads to mountain-rival ETSU on Friday at 6 p.m.

No. 12 Young Harris clips Nighthawks 4-1

 No. 12 Young Harris College got goals from four different scorers as the Mountain Lions recorded a 4-1 Peach Belt Conference men's soccer victory over their Blood Mountain rivals the University of North Georgia Wednesday (Sept. 22) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

D'Avino, Kirkwood named Peach Belt Players of the Week

Young Harris College goalkeeper Eduardo D'Avino and defender Adam Kirkwood were selected as the Peach Belt Conference's Men's Soccer Players of the Week ending Sept. 19. D'Avino was named the league's Goalkeeper of the Week, while Kirkwood was selected as the Defender of the Week.

No. 20 Mountain Lions shut out No. 9 Bears 2-0

The No. 20-ranked Young Harris College men's soccer team scored twice in the second half as the Mountain Lions shut out No. 9 Lenoir-Rhyne University 2-0 Wednesday (Sept. 15) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

Emmanuel (Ga.) holds off Mountain Lions 3-1 in home opener

The Emmanuel (Ga.) College volleyball team held off Young Harris College 25-21, 13-25, 25-23 and 25-18 in the non-conference home opener for the Mountain Lions Tuesday (Sept. 14) evening at the YHC Recreation and Fitness Center. The Lions improved to 2-6, while the Mountain Lions slipped to 2-7.
