County loses over 150,000 gallons of water from major leak

Even when caught quickly, a water leak can add up to significant financial loss. Clay County Water & Sewer Director Dusty Beal said a major leak occurred on July 31 at Truett Baptist Church on Highway 64 Business, costing his department several tens of thousands of dollars.

Highway Construction Updates

Despite the comments some county residents have made on social media and aloud about the length of time the Highway 69 construction is taking, the project is on schedule. “Highway 69 is still on target for the September 15, 2023, deadline,” DOT engineer Andy Russell said this week.
