Mr. Arnold Lee Hovis, 76, of Hayesville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital. Mr. Hovis was born Dec. 29, 1945, in Stanley, N.C. to the late Howard Lee Hovis and the late Mary Ellen Loftin Hovis.

Robert ‘Bob’ C. Sams

Robert “Bob” C. Sams, 73, of Simpsonville, S.C. passed away on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022.  He was born on May 3, 1948, to the late Earl Sams and Annie Coker Sams of Hayesville.

Mirtha Cobb

Mirtha Cobb, 88, passed away peacefully in Charlottesville, Va. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022 after a long illness with congestive heart failure.  She was born Nov. 6, 1933 in Mar del Plata, Argentina to Raul and Aida Barrios. She married her love, Bill Cobb, in 1958 who preceded her in death in 2001.

Elbert Stevens

Elbert Stevens, 84, of Andrews, N.C., passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 in a Chattanooga, Tenn. hospital. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 at the Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews. Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews:  www.iviefuneralhome.com was in charge of arrangements.

Robert Harrell Garrett

Robert Harrell Garrett, 76, passed away unexpectedly at North East Georgia Medical Center Jan. 20, 2022, after a long battle with COPD. Harrell left this earth to gain his heavenly body and join many loved ones. He was born April 4, 1945 to the late Hobert and Florence Garrett of Warne, N.C.

Beryle ‘Joan’ Wilson Walter

Beryle "Joan" Wilson Walter, 90, of Hayesville ,passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022.  She was born in New Jersey to the late John and Dorothy Hopkins Wilson. Beryle was a homemaker and a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hayesville.

Gary Robert Jones, age 70 of Hayesville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Erlanger Hospital after a month-long stay with cardiac problems. He was born on May 24, 1951 to Jack and Ruth Hughes Jones of Andrews.

Charles Walter Franklin

Charles Walter Franklin, 82, of Hayesville passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022. He was the son of the late Grady and Josephine Hughes Franklin. Charles had been a manager for Coble. He had graduated from Hayesville High School and loved gardening, hunting, and fishing.
