Western Carolina Women's Soccer Earns No. 3 Seed in SoCon Championships after Loss to UNCG Sunday

Western Carolina women’s soccer dropped a tough match on the road falling to UNCG 1-0 Sunday at the UNCG Soccer Stadium.
The Catamounts will be the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Southern Conference Championships and will get a rematch against UNCG whose win earned them a No. 6 seed.

Hayesville High School sent the Yellow Jacket cross country runners to Bryson City Wednesday, Oct. 20 to compete in the Smoky Mountain Conference championship meet. The Lady Jackets lacked enough runners to be eligible for points and the Yellow Jackets ended the event in fifth place.

Looking to turn around their Smoky Mountain Conference losing streak, the Hayesville Yellow Jacket varsity football team welcomed conference foe Swain County Friday, Oct. 15. After a solid start, the Jackets were unable to hold off the high-powered Maroon Devil offense and lost the contest 42-14.
