Lady Jackets win Currahee Classic

Varsity cross country runners from Hayesville High School made the trip to Robbinsville Tuesday, Oct. 8 for the Currahee Classic. Eight men’s teams and seven women’s teams lined up for the event and Hayesville’s teams showed off.

Volleyball Welcomes The Citadel, Wofford This Weekend

After playing its first four Southern Conference matches away from the friendly confines of the Ramsey Center, the Western Carolina volleyball team returns home this weekend to face The Citadel on Friday and Wofford on Saturday in a pair of 6 p.m. contests.

High school sports complex moves forward

Fans are likely to hear the cracks of bats and balls whizzing over home-plate in a brand new Hayesville High School sports complex, but it won’t be in time for next year’s baseball season.  On Thursday, county commissioners voted to begin soliciting bids to construct the facility.

Double duty weekend for Cruisers

The Blairsville Cruisers and the Joshua’s Warriors Christian Men’s Group  will co-host  a fall car show and sock hop on Saturday Oct.12 at the Blairsville Civic Center.  The car show will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the sock hop starting at 6:30 p.m.

JV Lady Jackets struggle in SMC games

It was a tough week for Hayesville’s JV volleyball squad. The Lady Jackets were on the road Tuesday, Oct.1 when they dropped a match to Robbinsville 2-0. The road woes continued Thursday, Oct. 3 when the Lady Tigers of Rosman defended their home court with a 2-0 win over Hayesville.

Road losses for volleyball

Hayesville’s varsity volleyball team’s up and down season continued last week with a pair of Smoky Mountain Conference matches. The Lady Jackets went to Robinsville Tuesday, Oct. 1 and returned home with a quick 3-0 loss. On Thursday, Oct.

Jackets lose to Knights

It was a tough start to the Smoky Mountain Conference portion of the schedule for the varsity Yellow Jacket football team. Hayesville travelled to Robbinsville Friday, Oct. 4 to take on the undefeated Black Knights.
