John F. Clemens, 73, of Hayesville, passed away Dec. 17, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna; two sons, James  and his wife, Patty, and Kenneth and his wife, Penny; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. No services were held.

Thomas Allen Penland, 76, passed away Dec. 22, 2020 surrounded by his family at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Thomas was born July 23, 1944 in Murphy, N.C. to Silvy and Allie Ashe Penland.

Charles "Bob" Richard Mincey Sr, 88, of Hayesville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020. He was born in Gastonia, N.C. to the late Floyd and Sallie "Digh" Mincey. Charles was an owner/operator of Grandfather's Mountain Spring Water.

Maxine Dize Somervell, 87, of White Stone, Va., passed peacefully from this world early on Dec. 9, 2020, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born Viola Maxine Dize in Palmer, Va., on Feb. 15, 1933 and raised on Pretice Creek in Northumberland County, Va.

James Ray Hall, 92, of Charlestown, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 18, 1 9 2 8 i n Hayesville to Ivory E. and Lilly Ledford Hall. He was affectionately known as Ray to his family and friends.

Oscar Gouveia

Oscar Gouveia, 95, of Hayesville, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020. He was born in Seekonk, Mass. to the late Martinho and JessAina Cardoza Gouveia. Oscar was the owner and operator of a dairy farm but left the family dairy to move to Florida in 1978.

Thelma Ann Parker

Thelma Ann Parker, 76, of Warne, N.C., passed away on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020. Thelma was born in Clay County to the late Roy and Elizabeth Hooper Ledford. She was a sewing machine operator in the textile industry. Thelma enjoyed her grandkids, great grandkids and her time with her family.
