John Lindabury Kelsey

John Lindabury Kelsey, 72, of Hayesville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020. He was born Feb. 22, 1948 in Denville, N.J. to the late Dana and Florence Lindabury Kelsey. John grew up next to Indian Lake in Denville, N.J. where he enjoyed watersports and worked as a lifeguard.

Aden Edward Martin

Aden Edward Martin crossed over the river Jordan into the open arms of our Lord and Savior on Dec. 7, 2020. He was born Jan. 16, 1926. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harve Aden Martin and Etta Mae Jones Martin; siblings, Zed, Della Mae, Walter and William Martin and Rachel Martin Hodge.

Carl Bertram Smith III

Carl Bertram Smith III, "Bert," 67, passed away on Nov. 22 at his home in Hayesville after a long illness. He is survived by his wife Linda; his mother, Patricia Knight, of Cape Canaveral Fla.; his brother, Tom, of Plano, Texas; his sister, Sarah, and brother-in-law, Dave Johnson, of Palm Bay Fla.

Lillie Mae Lancaster

Lillie Mae Lancaster, 74, of Warne, N.C., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020.  She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County and was born to the late Denmon and Eva Ledford Cothren. Lillie was a housekeeper at Union General Hospital. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Sharon B. Edwards

Ronald Charles Lloyd

Phyllis E. Barnard

Phyllis E. Barnard, 85, passed away quietly on Nov. 18, 2020, at a Blairsville, Ga. hospital. A Clay County native, she graduated from Hayesville High School and had a long career as a hairdresser in Mary Curtis’ beauty shop, just off the Courthouse Square in Hayesville.

James Thomas Kent Hall

James Thomas Kent Hall, 77, of Hayesville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020. Tom was born May 9, 1943 in Tallassee, Ala. Tom graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville and was a lifelong Gator fan. He served in the U.S. Air Force for several years.

Elmer Isaac Wilson, Jr.

Elmer Isaac Wilson, Jr., age 74, of Hayesville, N.C. and Lilburn, Ga., passed away peacefully at his home in Lilburn on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, 2020, surrounded by his family. Elmer was born on Aug. 13, 1946 in Jacksonville, Fla., but spent most of his childhood in Clyattville, Ga.
