Mrs. Delette “Dee” Wingfield Epps

Mrs. Delette “Dee” Wingfield Epps, 89, formerly of Athens, Ga., passed peacefully from natural causes on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020 at her daughter’s farm in Hayesville. She was married for 33 years to William Douglas “Doug” Epps, a pilot who preceded her in death in 1990.

Shane Michael Bradley Thompson

Shane Michael Bradley Thompson, 36, of Hayesville, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020 following a brief illness.  He was born on March 22, 1984 in St. Paul, Minn., son of Sherry Thompson and late Bradley John Thompson.

William Lee ‘Bill’ Cody

William Lee “Bill” Cody, 65, of Hayesville, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Aug. 10, 2020. Bill was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. Bill enjoyed farming and grew his own corn which he then ground into cornmeal and made hominy.

Dianne Blankenship

Dianne Blankenship, 72, of Hayesville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020. She was born in Clayton, Ga. to the late Ferd and Burell Crone. Dianne was a CNA and received a certificate from Tri-County Community College in Horticulture. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and horseback riding.

Kelsey Elizabeth Bowles

Kelsey Elizabeth Bowles, 28, of Nashville, Tenn., passed away suddenly of a pulmonary emboli on Monday, July 27, 2020. Kelsey was born in Daytona Beach, Fla., but had lived in Hayesville and Young Harris for several years.

John A. Moss

John A. Moss, 77, of Hayesville, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 in Chattanooga, Tenn. He had lived most of his life in Hayesville. John attended Young Harris College before moving to Atlanta where he worked as a plumber and mechanic. He later joined the Army National Guard for the next 10 years.

Clifford Fannen Maney

Clifford Fannen Maney, 78, of Madisonville, Tenn., passed away Sunday, July 26. Clifford was a native of Hayesville where he considered the beauty of the mountains and lake his true home. He cherished his wife of 59 years, Patricia A. Maney, who preceded him in death in May.

Roger Lawton Youngblood

Mr. Roger Lawton Youngblood, 63, of Cornelia, Ga., passed away on Saturday July 18, 2020. He was born in Atlanta, Ga., on Sept. 29, 1956 to Henry Lawton Youngblood (deceased) and Frances Davenport Youngblood.
