Hugh Howell, of Hiawassee, Ga., passed away on Aug. 31, 2020 at North East Georgia Medical Center hospice after a period of declining health. He was 80 years old, born Dec. 22, 1939 in Hiawassee to Oscar and Bernice Jones Howell.

Sarah Helen Shulin, of Port Royal, S.C., formerly Sarah Tiblis, of Warne, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 9 2020. Her passion was her family and her work at the Beaufort County Library as a Children’s Programmer.

Our Angel, Oleta Ledford Brugh, 85, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020 in an Acworth care facility. She was a native of Clay County but had lived in Murphy most of her life.

Bryan ‘Nibz’ Walters

Bryan “Nibz” Walters, 30, of Brasstown, passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020 in a Murphy hospital. He was born on Jan. 7, 1990 in St. Petersburg, Fla. He attended Boca Ciega High School before moving to Hayesville, where he graduated from Hayesville High School in 2008.

Donella LaVonne Burns, 96, of Andrews, N.C., passed away Aug. 16, 2020 at the Clay County Care Center. She was born March 22, 1924 in Paynesville, Ohio. She was a daughter of William and Rhoda Leeth Baughman.

John N. Simonelli, 91, of Hayesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020 at Murphy Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Murphy, N.C. He is formerly of the Pt. Pleasant and Toms River areas of New Jersey and Little Torch Key, Fla.

Ella ‘Faye’ Teems

Ella “Faye” Teems, 72, of Peachtree, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 14, 2020. She was born Jan. 14, 1948 in Clay County to the late Jake and Clara Belle Walker Trout. She worked at MOOG for close to 40 years before retiring in 2017.
