Robert Lee McWilliams, 84, of Hayesville, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 in a Six Mile, S.C. care facility where he had moved to be near his daughter.  Robert was known to many as Bob. He was a native of Georgia. Born in Atlanta, he lived in Jonesboro most of his adult life.

Avery Chase Hawkins

Avery Chase Hawkins, 16, of Hiwassee Dam was called home by his Lord and Savior Thursday June 25, 2020. Avery was a native and lifelong resident of Hiwassee Dam. He was a rising junior at Hiwassee Dam High School.

Austin Taylor Hawkins

Austin Taylor Hawkins, 18, of Hiwassee Dam, was called home by his Lord and Savior Thursday June 25, 2020. He was a native and lifetime resident of Hiwassee Dam. Austin was a 2020 graduate of Hiwassee Dam High School, where he was a member of the shooting team.

James A. Gaskill Jr.

James A. Gaskill Jr., 81, of Hayesville, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020. No services are planned at this time. Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville: www.iviefuneralhome.com is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Michael Laster

Thomas Michael Laster, 69, of Hayesville, passed Thursday, May 28, 2020. He was born in Newnan, Ga. to the late Willie and Nellie Rosser Laster. Mike was a mapping technician. He had a passion for model trains and dirt track racing. Mike was a member of Little Brasstown Baptist Church.

Maggie L. Scroggs

Wendy Picklesimer Ledford, 55, of Hayesville, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 16, 2020. She was a native of Hiwassee Dam, but lived the last 33 years in Hayesville.  Wendy taught school at Murphy Elementary for 31 years.

Maggie L. Scroggs

Maggie L. Scroggs went on her long awaited journey to Heaven on Friday June 19. She would have been 96 years old on Wednesday June 24.  She was born in Clay County in the Sweetwater Community. Maggie graduated from Hayesville High and attended Sweetwater School in elementary.

Johnny Jason Burch

Johnny J. Burch, 74, of Hayesville, went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 19, 2020. He was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. Johnny graduated from Atlanta Technical College and began working in the sheet metal industry.

Robert Samuel Stevens Jr.

Robert Samuel Stevens Jr, 90, formerly of Lynchburg and Roanoke, V. and suburban Atlanta, Ga., passed away on June 10, 2020 at Clay County Care Center. Born in Lynchburg on Feb. 27, 1930, Bob was the only son of Robert Samuel Stevens Sr. and Annie Laurie Carson Stevens.

Clara Wooten Highsmith, 88, passed away after a short battle with cancer at Murphy Medical Nursing and Rehab Center on April 16, 2020 in Murphy, N.C.
