Lady Jackets continue to struggle

Following a win over Nantahala to start the season, the Lady Yellow Jacket basketball team has found itself in a bit of a skid. Hayesville dropped the next two games, but evened their record with a win over Andrews.

Wins improve Jackets’ flawless record to 6-0

The Hayesville Yellow Jacket varsity basketball team opened the week with a home game against Cherokee Tuesday, Jan. 19. In the preseason, the Braves were considered one of the favorites to dethrone Hayesville as the class of the Smoky Mountain Conference.

Stamey commits to Truett-McConnell

Middle school volleyball victorious in finale

The Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball team from Hayesville finished its season with pair of matches against Smoky Mountain Conference opponents. Hayesville hosted its final home event Wednesday, Jan. 6, a match that ended with the Lady Jackets celebrating a 2-0 win over Rosman.

Volleyball season in the books

Hayesville High school has captured its first conference championship of the 2020- 2021 school year. The JV Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball team wasn’t in action in the final week of the season, but were able to use it as a time of celebration for their Smoky Mountain Conference championship win.

Mixed results for Lady Jackets

The varsity Lady Yellow Jacket basketball team has started its pursuit of one of the two coveted guaranteed playoff spots. Hayesville opened the season with a 64-4 win over Nantahala in The Hive Tuesday, Jan 5.

Gyms might look a little different but the success of the varsity Yellow Jacket basketball team is a familiar sight. Hayesville started their 2021 campaign Tuesday, Jan. 5 with an 89-36 home win over Nantahala. On Friday, Jan.

HHS volleyball gets trio of wins

The volleyball squads from Hayesville High School returned from the Christmas break in a big way. On Tuesday, Dec. 29 the varsity Lady Yellow Jackets crossed the border into Cherokee County to take on the Lady Wildcats of Andrews. Thanks to a rally, Hayesville came away with a 3-2 victory.

Basketball season is here

As part of the final preparation for the official season, Hayesville High School welcomed Franklin High School Tuesday, Dec. 29 for a trio of basketball scrimmages. The event was more of a practice for the teams than a game. No score was kept and play wasn’t limited to four quarters.

Tough week for varsity

  With the volleyball season creeping ever closer to an end, each match becomes more important. Hayesville’s high school teams wrapped up their pre-Christmas schedule with a home match against Murphy on Wednesday, Dec. 16 and the varsity squad took on Rosman on the road Friday, Dec. 18.
