Middle School Volleyball on a roll

Volleyball season is in full swing for Hayesville Middle School. The Lady Yellow Jackets traveled to Murphy Monday, Nov. 23 and came away with a 2-0 win over the rival Bulldogs. Hayesville followed that up with a 2-0 win on their home court over Andrews on Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Lady Jackets rebound with conference win

The Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball teams from Hayesville High School matched up with two Cherokee County foes last week. The Lady Jackets visited their chief rival, Murphy, on Monday, Nov. 23. The JV squad fell 2-1 and the varsity team lost 3-0. Andrews then came to Hayesville Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Snowden, Hayesville High School repeat

Once again, Hayesville High School's cross country program has proven to be one of the toughest in the state. Riding a wave of momentum, both the men's and women's teams picked up victories in Cherokee Tuesday, Nov. 24. The wins improved both teams record to 2-0 on the season.

Perfect start for HMS

 Volleyball season is officially underway for the Lady Yellow Jackets of Hayesville Middle School. The squad started their chase for a championship Tuesday, Nov. 17 on the road against Martins Creek for a rare double-header.

HMS doubles up

Hayesville Middle School cross country runners started their season by hosting Andrews and Robbinsville, Wednesday, Nov. 18. The Yellow Jackets defended their home turf with wins for both the girls’ and boys’ teams. Girls individual results: Savannah Burch: first place. Emma Ashe: second place.

JV volleyball victorious

Hayesville High School opened the junior varsity portion of the volleyball schedule with away matches against Nantahala on Tuesday, Nov. 17 and Robbinsville Thursday, Nov. 19. The Lady Jackets took the win in Nantahala and followed that up with a victory in Robbinsville.

Jackets sweep home event

 Cross country runners for Hayesville High School flexed some serious muscle when they opened their season, Wednesday, Nov. 18. In a meet that saw Hayesville host Robbinsville and Nantahala, the Jackets took home plaques for winning the women’s and men’s events.

Lady Jackets get mixed results

 For the first time since March 5, Hayesville High School had a varsity sports team in action when the volleyball team travelled to Nantahala High School Tuesday, Nov. 17. The Lady Jackets were able to capitalize on the joy of starting their season with a  3-0 match win.

Volleyball gets underway

 For the first time since March, 5, Hayesville High School will be competing in an athletic competition. The Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball squads will be the first teams to usher in the COVID-19 era of sports for HHS.  Head coach Tammy Dills said the first goal is to get the season in.
